Reviews

Below are just some examples of the excellent reviews that Trewithen Restaurant has received:

"They serve modern British with the accent on local venison, halibut, sea bass, local beef, welfare-friendly local veal and much more. I had succulent scallops in garlic butter served with sweet potato puree, followed by fillet of beef - as tender as it comes - with a five-onion sauce and ending with some of the county's best cheeses including Yarg, Cornish Blue and Tintagel with a kitchen-made piccalilli.

The food is unfussy but well loved - they don't call it a 'jus' they call it a sauce - and Claire has to be the warmest, friendliest front of house I've ever met. The atmosphere of laughter, families of kids to grandparents and good, local produce makes it a must eat."

"I visited your restaurant recently whilst on holiday in Cornwall. I had the most superb meal that included homemade gluten-free bread. This was quite a surprise as, whilst I can obtain a gluten-free meal there are certain items that are beyond my expectations. I put a note of recommendation at our holiday accommodation to pass on our wonderful experience."

"Thank you a thousand times for the part you played in our daughter Victoria's wedding celebrations. Your kindness and professionalism together with what proved to be the talking point of the whole lovely weekend i.e. THE FOOD was, in the opinion of all, an absolute triumph."

"I have dined here twice in the last few weeks with different companions and have been mightily impressed with the food, ambience and attentive but unobtrusive service. I am ashamed to say that these are the first evening visits I have paid here since the change of ownership and how I wish I had been many more times!"

"Fantastic wine list with good selection of whites and reds from old and new world plus (unusually for Cornwall) a fine wine list. For the quality and variety, the pricing is terrific. It is a small and intimate place and if you want very good food and service in unpretentious surroundings make sure to book a meal here next year."
